E-Learning in My 6th Grade Classroom
Earth Day Projects
As part of a celebration of Earth Day, students completed a WebQuest that enabled them to research important problems facing the world today. You can find the instructions for their project on My STEM wiki on the EARTH DAY WebQuest page. As a culminating project to their research and discussion, students created videos using MovieMaker to idealize their theme as the worst problem facing Earth as we know it. Follow the link below to view videos that students created using images from Google and relevant musical accompaniment.

E-Portfolios
For the first year ever at Advanced Technology Academy, my students created online portfolios to showcase their own work in their 6th grade math class. Their work began in January with the hope that these student portfolios will travel with them as they progress through middle school and eventually on to their high school years. We created the portfolios on Google Sites so students could have continued access throughout their student progression through ATA. Below are some samples of our student portfolios so far this year. You can find even more examples on my math websites wiki. Just click on the screenshot of the student portfolio to see their work!
6th Grade Memory Movies
For the third year in a row, students will be creating a "6th Grade Memory Movie" in which they will use MovieMaker to reminisce about the year and their successes in 6th grade. It is by far a student favorite and students really enjoy sorting through the pictures and remembering the activities we completed throughout the year.
